Our Story
Beacon started around a kitchen table. Ben Chisholm — CPA, lifelong coffee snob, and the kind of person who actually reads every line of a tax return — kept hearing the same frustrations from friends and colleagues: their accountants were impossible to reach, rarely proactive, and treated tax season like a transaction instead of a relationship.
So he built the firm he wished he'd had. His brother Tom joined soon after, bringing deep real estate tax expertise and the same belief that clients deserve better. Together they created a practice where your CPA knows your name, understands your goals, and picks up the phone when you call. As the team grew, Anna joined to bring even deeper tax expertise and the kind of meticulous attention that catches what others miss.
Today, we serve real estate investors, property managers, and small business owners across the country. But every client still gets what we promised from day one — a team that genuinely cares about your success.

Tom joined his brother at Beacon to build the kind of firm they both wished existed when they started their careers. With deep expertise in real estate tax strategy and entity structuring, he helps investors keep more of what they earn — and understand exactly how. When he's not untangling 1031 exchanges, you'll find him coaching his kids' soccer team.
